Day 3; could anybody tell me the dress code.

 Day 3. 05.07.2021 Profondeville-Sedan 92 km

The rain was falling gently on the roof when we woke up. We had an early start and were on the road before 09.00am.

After 17km in Dinant we went to a bike shop to get a new inner tire and some new brake blocks for our Magura rim brake. We left the banks of the Maas river and had to do some serieus climbing over the Ardenne hills by now (1330m at the end of the day)

The weather changed continuously, when we took off our raincoats we had to stop 5km later to get them back on.

We had cappuccino in one of the few restaurant open in this desolated part of Belgium. The Belgiums have their own way of making it and it is a meal in disguise with cream and sugar added. Lunch was served in a busstop.

At the end of the afternoon the weather got better and at the Semois river we had a 0.0% Leffe in the sun before starting the most serious climb of the day to the French border.

When we entered France the tarmac got instantly so much better that we had a very fast decent into Sedan. We really tried to see the Citadel, but the rain started again and there were no other options than to divert to our hotel’s restaurant. Classic French cooking, you would go all the way just to have a meal like this.
