Day 13; anonymous tough ride 103 km

Day 13; anonymous tough ride 103 km

We started with a photo session at the Grand Palace, thank you Louis for this very entertaining building.

Next we had troubles finding our way out of Versailles, it is quite a large city on its own. The miles when we got out of Versailles were in the woodlands en easy.

After crossing the Seine things got tougher, a strong headwind and a lot of climbing. In Marines we finally found a LeClerc open and restocked.

Lunch was served in our favourite location; a busstop.

Around 16.00 we arrived in Beauvais and went straight to the cathedral.

This is a special one because it has never been finished. The builders wanted to make the heighest cathedral in the world. The created the highest vault in the world but the building was unstable and the nave has never been build and the tower collapsed. In the church you can see all kind of extra structures added later to keep things in its place. The finished choir is stunning in itself, extremely high and incredible light.

In the evening a good dinner on the central square with one of the last opportunities to eat andouillette and excellent chips and apple crumble.
